Sorry for the delay on this review, guys! Circumstances kept me from seeing the Weeds finale until late Monday. Note: Full spoilers follow for the episode.
“Your history is very confusing to me,” says Stevie to Nancy in the final episode of Weeds. It was one of the better lines of the one-hour finale, because kid, you don’t know the half of it…
I’ve been more onboard with Weeds the past few years than some. No, the show hasn’t been as strong as it once was, but I still enjoyed the characters and the ever-changing locations and scenarios.
That being said, the series finale, “It’s Time”, was just okay. You’re always taking a risk with a big time jump like the one here, but it can be used in clever and insightful ways. It was an interesting idea to discover that the events that ended the previous episode really did end Andy’s relationship with Nancy and it was fun to see where everyone was a few years later – and that they even included some future tech, including what we can only guess is the iPhone 10 or so, along with showing a future where pot is legalized and so commonplace that Starbucks wants to buy Nancy's successful chain.
