Sienna Miller and Toby Jones star as actress Tippi Hedren and director Alfred Hitchcock, respectively, in HBO Films' The Girl, which recounts their troubled relationship while making the classic films The Birds and Marnie.
Based on Hedren's recollections and Donald Spoto's books on Hitchcock, this Julian Jarrold-directed biopic casts the Master of Suspense in a sordid, far from favorable light. It's well known that Hitchcock mostly treated actors like crap and was a weird dude, but The Girl shows him as nothing less than a creep with a brilliant imagination and a proclivity for sexual harassment (by today's standards) and assault.
